Junior Project Manager
who can direct and manage product development from initial specification discussions with the customer to full mass production at the sub-contractor. You are a catalyst in the team effort to get things done, both internal and external with a strong drive to perform on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management and senior engineering staff.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Draft and maintain full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
- Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
- Where required, negotiate with management for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
- Strong liaises with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Identify and actively resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Requirements
- BA/MA education, preferred in electrical, mechanical or software development.
- 2 to 5 years of working experience in consumer electronics as (technical) project manager.
- Experienced in Microsoft Project and Office tools.
- Excellent Dutch and English communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong commercial skills.
- Flexible team player, flexible in working time.
- Willingness to travel.
Senior Buyer
In this new position you are part of a young and dynamic team that wants to change the way the world will read and write.
Responsibilities
- Project management of all buying related matters in the context of New Product Introduction (incl. supplier selection and contracting)
- Fundamental market research and supplier selection within relevant supply market segments
- Supplier base management and development
Requirements:
- Professional level: BA/MA graduate, NEVI 2
- Working experience: at least 5 years in professional/technical buying
- Analytical thinker, assertive personality and team player who can work under pressure
- Success oriented
- Languages: English is required (fluent both oral and in writing)
C++ Software Developer
who can extend the functionality of our main Digital Reader platform from which consumer products are derived. Our application framework is written in C and C++ and based on open source components like X-server, GTK, D-BUS and HAL. Your main responsibility will be to work on our C++ document viewer framework running on top of these open source components.
Responsibilities
- Extend C++ document viewer framework with new functionality and to support more document formats
- Optimize existing software components for better performance
- Carry out feasibility study on new functionalities and tools
Requirements
- BA/MA Computer Science
- 2-5 years of working experience in Software Development projects
- In-depth knowledge of C and especially C++
- Some experience in working on Linux OS
- Experience in software development for Linux is a big plus
- Excellent English communication skills

Server Software Developer
To extend the current group of engineers that build content distribution applications so that content from a publisher can be delivered to our Electronic Paper Devices.
Responsibilities
- Develop functional building blocks for content processing and delivery in Python
- Develop web based user interfaces for system administration
- Server installation and maintenance
Requirements
- Several years of experience in Python programming
- Experience in PHP programming
- Experience in programming for Linux or FreeBSD systems
- Experience with programming and customizing CMS-like websites
- Knowledge of dealing with cross platform / browser compatibility issues
- Knowledge XHTML, CSS and Javascript
- Basic knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)

Mechanical Engineer
Who will work on the exciting frontier of new technology, developing technology with the potential to change tomorrow’s world of reading and writing.
Responsibilities
- As a mechanical engineer and designer, you will be part of a small team of Engineers working on products that are on the cutting edge of new technology.
- Molding parts (mainly plastic) are part of your concept-driven designs and you keep considerations such as a ‘built for assembly’-focus, cost and time in mind.
- A small part of your work could be the creation of “milled” parts for testing/assembly tools.
- In your work, you will use your research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, as well as your skills in mathematical modeling and computer-aided design (both 2D and 3D).
- You are a strong communicator, discussing and solving complex problems with external parties and working closely with your colleagues in iRex’ various departments.
Requirements
- A Bachelor/Master in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 3 years of working experience in fine mechanical detailing
- Experienced in Pro Engineer Wildfire 2.0 (or Unigraphics)
- Experience with mobile devices is a plus
- Experience with glass display technology is a plus

Test Engineer Embedded Software
Our current embedded software framework is built on top of standard Linux Open Source solutions. You will design and develop/implement a test framework which consists of both hardware and software to work towards fully automated functional testing of our Digital Reader product. You will take the lead in working with the current Embedded Software team members to design for test, write unit tests and write tests for the framework.
Requirements
- BA/MA Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- At least 3 years of working experience in Software Testing
- In-depth knowledge of test tools and practices
- In-depth knowledge of C and Unix scripting languages
- Knowledge of low-level protocols like I2C
- Excellent English communication skills
- Flexible team player
The following skills are a considered a plus:
- Experience with programming 8-bit micro processors and VHDL
- Experience with NI-DAQ
- Hands-on experience with soldering iron, multimeter and oscilloscope
